Ramaswamy pledges to draw voters of color from Dems
Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy made a commitment on Friday to engage a diverse range of voters in the polls if he secures the 2024 GOP nomination.
Highlighting the dissatisfaction among Black and Hispanic voters with the current state of the economy under President Joe Biden, Ramaswamy conveyed to Fox News that the GOP could effectively appeal to voters of various ethnic backgrounds in the upcoming election.
Ramaswamy expressed, "This presents a significant opportunity... provided the Republican Party recognizes the need and seizes it." He continued, "If I become the nominee, a scenario I both anticipate and aspire to, we will attract a multitude of voters with diverse skin tones and triumph resoundingly in this election."
According to insights gathered from the HIT Tracking Focus Group study, eight men of color who had voted for Biden in 2020 conveyed their disillusionment with the approach to economics under the Biden administration. Several of them even expressed a preference for the economic conditions observed during the tenure of former President Donald Trump.
On Friday night, Ramaswamy voiced, "Numerous Americans, irrespective of their racial background, feel deceived. They recognize the dire state of the economy, an experience unaffected by the politics of dividing along racial lines. By standing up and conveying the truth, we stand poised for victory."
Ramaswamy, hailing from Ohio and born to Indian immigrants, has consistently addressed matters of race and racism during his campaign journey, a trajectory that has contributed to his gradual rise in recent polls.
The fourth of Ramaswamy's ten core campaign principles asserts the concept that "reverse racism is a form of racism." This self-proclaimed "non-white nationalist" has openly shared his own encounters in the pursuit of the "American dream."
